The hurricane Ian clean-up is massive and ongoing. The needs are complex, simple, and everything in-between. It’s multi-layered like an onion and everybody has and is like an onion. The power is slowly being restored to my neighborhood and the surrounding communities and that is great! I see all kinds of recovery equipment and services flowing and flying all around us. This includes people, because without human power, there would be no recovery. Cooperation is essential and so are the vast and diverse skills that all kinds of people bring. Volunteer organizations are crucial and the most important thing of all is how we take care of each other. Thank you to everyone thinking about us in Florida. Your thoughts, prayers, contributions and well wishes are felt and appreciated by me. I still don’t have any power, but I will be doing a live text only chat this Friday for anyone who wants to join in, please meet me in the members area on the live cam page.
Gratitude and #lovedrop in your corner of the world. Denise
Progress is being made. It’s not happening as quickly as I wish it were. I’m going a little stir-crazy and very busy at the same time. The constant calls, text messages and never ending search for more information on how I can help others and myself in this situation is what is making me feel like I’m on and off a dizzying amusement ride. I’m betting this is normal and as soon as I start getting frustrated I think about how fortunate I am. Every day things are coming back on-line. There are ten’s of thousands of people working on the front line and behind the scenes. Each and every one of them are dealing with some sort of limiting factor because of the destruction to power, water, roadways and other critical infrastructure. Things are getting better and little by little recovery is happening. Thank you to the thousands of workers locally and abroad. Thank you to each and every citizen doing their own work and helping others. Let us be patient with each other during this tense and challenging time. And may we always be a sign of hope to all who cross our path. #lovedrop in your corner of the world. Denise
Watching the news coming out of Fort Myers, Naples and surrounding areas is heart wrenching. I can’t help but worry about all the people who have to face so much loss. I am in touch with my family, some of my friends and neighbors and I’m relieved to know they are all safe. With so much happening all at once it’s hard to keep track of things and it’s mind numbing. That said, we are all safe! Damage assessment is next and slowly starting to happen as access begins to open up. I am aware of some of the damage to family and friends homes and property and got some news on my house. Information is starting to come in, but it will be slow for a while. Being patient is hard and necessary. Reminder to self – We are all safe!
Thanks for checking in, I will update more soon.
Love drop in your corner of the world.

I don’t know where to start. The past 5 days have been stressful and busy. When preparing for a possible natural emergency and evacuation the list of things that run through your mind is long, winding and frequently chaotic. You can’t give in to fear, but you have to plan for the worst. How do you do that? How do you think of everything when the clock is ticking and there are so many responsibilities and options? You must keep calm and you must keep moving. These are some of my thoughts. The stay focused thoughts push the scary “what if” thoughts aside. I will close this post by telling you that at this time we are safe, and my family is safe and I am super grateful for that. We have weathered this part of the storm and the extent of the damages are unknown. I will post more as soon as possible. And, I see your good wishes and I feel your prayers. Thank you for thinking of me and of all of us in Florida. I hope you are all safe and secure and continue to be.
Love and Gratitude xo Denise
Our hurricane preparations started on Friday of last week and continues through today because the system continues to be unpredictable. Flooding concerns forced us to evacuate and unfortunately, all the days of prep work and monitoring of the forecasts can’t ensure that we did everything we could and should have. We hope we made the best plans and decisions to secure ourselves and our loved ones and that if you are in the path of this hurricane that you and yours all stay safe. Regarding my member site, you should not see an interruption of service. I will continue to keep you updated as best I can. Thank you for the kind messages of support and for being my people. Love and gratitude Denise
The hurricane preparation work started very early yesterday and continues to this moment. Like many located in Ian’s path we are focused on the weather channel while we work to prepare our homes, our families and our friends. You should not see any interruptions on my site (although I may not be able to do our weekly member cam). As always, I have new updates schedule for this week and look forward to staying in touch with you via my diary and my social media feeds. If you are in Ian’s path, please be careful and I hope you all stay safe. Love and Thanks! Denise
