Our Friday nigh live cam party turned into a fun conversation about all sorts of things and it was nice! Thank you to all of the members who hung out with me and chatted. The video quality was in and out, so, I decided it would be better for members if I just recorded a replacement show. That way you get a really good quality video. I never want to frustrate members with a crappy looking picture. I worked all weekend and encountered all sorts of little issues along the way, but I got it done and the video will post later this morning. I’m fine and I’m a little overwhelmed by the number of things that need to be handled. Progress is being made, but with all of the things on my plate I am getting behind in normal tasks. (I fucking hate getting behind). Thank you to all of you for sending your messages of support. Thank you for the cards and the social posts of encouragement. Life is complicated, but it doesn’t have to be as complicated as we make it. For example, I don’t want to complain, but I do want to complain. See what I mean? Simple and complicated at the same time! Hahaha
Anyway, I’ve had a few of the most challenging days in memory and it’s only Wednesday. Suffice to say that I am dealing with a lot of different demands and needs coming from all sorts of places. Balancing the needs of others while also trying to take care of yourself can be a very tricky place to be. Never-the-less, I will do my best to figure shit out while still moving forward and without all the answers. I will be doing a live chat on Friday and look forward to sharing an update on what has been happening this week. Fingers crossed, I will be doing a real video live cam next week. Quick update as our progress continues. These days I wake up in the middle of the night and I’m not sure where I am because we’ve moved around a lot in the last few weeks. I am a little tired, though I have slept and I am grateful for that. I think its the never ending list of things to do that make me feel a little tired. I’ve been moving around a lot as I work to help my parents, and do what little I can to assist family members and friends. On top of that I have a list of damages and repairs to figure out. The hurricane Ian clean-up is massive and ongoing. The needs are complex, simple, and everything in-between. It’s multi-layered like an onion and everybody has and is like an onion. The power is slowly being restored to my neighborhood and the surrounding communities and that is great! I see all kinds of recovery equipment and services flowing and flying all around us. This includes people, because without human power, there would be no recovery. Cooperation is essential and so are the vast and diverse skills that all kinds of people bring. Volunteer organizations are crucial and the most important thing of all is how we take care of each other. Thank you to everyone thinking about us in Florida. Your thoughts, prayers, contributions and well wishes are felt and appreciated by me. I still don’t have any power, but I will be doing a live text only chat this Friday for anyone who wants to join in, please meet me in the members area on the live cam page.

Progress is being made. It’s not happening as quickly as I wish it were. I’m going a little stir-crazy and very busy at the same time. The constant calls, text messages and never ending search for more information on how I can help others and myself in this situation is what is making me feel like I’m on and off a dizzying amusement ride. I’m betting this is normal and as soon as I start getting frustrated I think about how fortunate I am. Every day things are coming back on-line. There are ten’s of thousands of people working on the front line and behind the scenes. Each and every one of them are dealing with some sort of limiting factor because of the destruction to power, water, roadways and other critical infrastructure. Things are getting better and little by little recovery is happening. Thank you to the thousands of workers locally and abroad. Thank you to each and every citizen doing their own work and helping others. Let us be patient with each other during this tense and challenging time. And may we always be a sign of hope to all who cross our path. #lovedrop in your corner of the world. Denise
