I went to see The Avengers last weekend and LOVED IT. My favorite characters included Robert Downey Jr. as Iron man (did I mention I love him?) and Mark Ruffalo as the Hulk (amazing actor). I thoroughly enjoyed the Black Widow with all her feminine power of persuasion but I have to admit that it was Iron Man and the Hulk that made me love the movie most. I don’t want to give anything away for anyone who hasn’t seen the movie, but my last comment about the superheroes was that I love Stan Lee for making his heroes so human.  My only complaint, is that I had a woman sitting next to me who squealed like Pee Wee Herman throughout the entire movie. I really wanted her to have fun, but she was making me a little crazy For a super good time, take a friend and your family to see The Avengers. And watch out for Pee Wee Herman’s!

Attack the Block is one of my favorite movies of the year. Fun, funny, amazing young actors, awesome music and a fun plot line. The movie has great dialogue and lots of adrenaline. This is the ultimate popcorn movie!

I had the pleasure of watching Martin Scorsese’s new 3D movie Hugo. I’m not a huge fan of 3D but I loved this one. The city Scorcese and his super team created was beautiful and magical. We went to the DGA to see the movie and after the movie James Cameron and Martin came out on stage for a one-on-one interview. It was interesting and inspiring to listen to two master filmmakers geek out on 3D film-making. They talked about the unique learning curve of 3D and the future. In the end, what I walked away with was a renewed sense of inspiration in the realization that no matter who you are, and no matter what you have accomplished in your life, its really all about challenging yourself to learn something new. It is in that process that we grow as people and in our chosen profession our art and our expression.

I’m headed to Las Vegas for the 2011 Olympia weekend. Meeting with all of my favorite Female bodybuilders and fitness friends and personalities and best of all spending time with the fans. A film that confidently borrows from the porn genre, but that is not a porn film.” Sergej Moya made these statements during an interview for Variety Magazine and while talking about his newest film project “Hotel Desire”. The rest of the article is interesting in part because Moya is raising the money for his film with crowdfunding. And he has literally managed to raise most of the $241,000 budget he needs by taking donations, mostly made up of very small donations from the online community that wants to see this film made — and why not? We are sexual creatures after all. When you look at the statistics he mentions, it’s hard to wrap your head around the idea that people think about sex as much as they do. Whats not hard to believe, is that people probably don’t spend nearly as much time thinking about murder and violence as they do thinking about sex. And yet, what we call entertainment, our movies, TV shows and games are filed with violence. I don’t know Moya’s work yet, but I’m really looking forward to watching this film… and I already know I love his point of view. Denise
