Yesterday was my first day out of the house and I decided to embrace my moon boot and the season. Boy am I glad my left leg is strong enough to do all the work around here. This last week has made me hyper aware of my leg strength and balance because I can’t put my right foot down. So what is this challenge meant to teach me? I can’t see my short term disability as a problem because I know I can be better because of the test my left leg and upper body are getting. And, I appreciate my strength and balance even more than before. The loss of muscle, bone and balance as we age can stop us from enjoying life and I’m sharing this because I hope to remind you to keep moving by strength training so that you can live your most powerful, joyful life. Walking with crutches for the first time in my life, tackling steps, the bath, chairs & every NORMAL obstacle on the floor like a small floor rug or a piece of clothing has been a real eye opener. The crutches are helping me get from point A to point B in the house, but I can’t carry anything, not even a cup of coffee!!! Regardless, I think there is a new workout routine here somewhere. 💪🦵🦶👩🦯👩🦯👩🦯 #keepmoving

My post surgery follow-up yesterday was a little tense, but all went well and I’m happy with my progress and so was the doctor. I got new doctor’s orders which include toe exercises of 25 reps of movement for my big toe each day. I’m thinking I will mix my toe workout with my morning crunches to make it feel like more of a real workout. I’m icing and hoping around on crutches and my goal is to master these sticks so that I can start doing tricks with them 🙂 One step at a time! Thank you all for your love and well wishes! New Kicks to help me heal.
One to protect the non-weight bearing foot and the other is a cryo foot and ankle cuff for icing. I think I really love this cryo gear and can’t wait to see what my doctor says about my progress so far. I’m going to see him tomorrow so keep your fingers crossed! I’m learning how to make this all work and you know that I’m already plotting my next workout! Stay tuned!

Day three of my “keep your foot up” adventure and I’m doing better. I have great people and good energy around me and I am thankful for that. I really just want to thank you all for the well wishes! 🙏🏼 I think I have everything I need to move forward. I’ve got my moon boot, my crutches, my pain medications and lots of healthy, high fiber fruit to keep things running smoothly. And I just discovered the loopy emoji!🥴That’s me right now, moving slow like a turtle and a little loopy, but most of all I am grateful! 🐢🦶

Dear members, you may remember that I was complaining about problems with my feet earlier this year. Those issues turned into me doing a lot of research and to talking to several podiatrists and surgeons before finally making the decision to have surgery this week. I am happy to report that I am on the other side of surgery and that I have my first follow up appointment this week. I plan to be a model patient and to do everything in my power to aid in my recovery. I will follow all of the doctors instructions of no weight bearing on my right foot and take my medication like a boss. I will also include icing and the best nutrition and hydration I can use. I suck at down time but I’m looking forward to getting back on both feet and into the gym again. Work, Life, Training, Diet Balance is always a thing for me. And this weekend I made a special trip to apple pie country for the best natural apple pie I’ve ever had.
