I’m singing Happy Birthday to you and wishing you a fabulous Birthday and beyond. Savor life and all it has to offer you, and EAT CAKE… cause I want to lick the candle! 🙂 Honestly, I’m blessed to have several very special Scorpios in my life so it’s truly a celebratory time.

Happy Birthday Sweet Scorpio Man…….xoxo Denise
Woo hoo the Yankees win! The Phillie’s are a great team and they made the series an interesting contest for sure, but I am happy that the Yankees found their way to their 27th win. For the record, my vote for the games MVP is Hideki Matsui. Now I have to find some pin strips 🙂 xoxo Denise
I’m such a big fan of Halloween that this year I found myself looking for more reasons to dress up. Fall is always an invigorating time of year. The cooler temperatures, the brilliant colors, football and the world series add to the excitement and energy. I just loved watching so many people dressing up and being in California means that there is another reason to celebrate. All saints day also known as Dias De Los Muertos is a Mexican holiday that celebrates and remembers loved ones who have passed away. The custom at first glance is surprising with it’s skeleton dolls and macabre imagery, but when you think about it, it’s really a wonderful thing to set time aside to remember and celebrate the people you’ve know and loved. I hope you can meet me for my next live show…the celebration continues. xoxo Denise
I know it’s wrong to do a post without at least one picture, so I quickly dug this one out for you. Last night I went to a Rock’n 70’s theme Halloween party put on by some great friends and felt the need to do work my Caribbean roots in my Foxy Brown homage. xoxo Denise
It’s Halloween and I’m sooo excited. I looove Halloween and I love my pumpkin! I haven’t carved it, but I’m going to and when I do, I’ll post a picture for you. And, I haven’t decided what my costume will be either but, when I do, I’ll post that for you too. My closet is full of all kinds of goodies so I don’t usually decide what I want to wear until I have to 🙂 Happy Trick or Treating! xoxo Denise
Im one step closer to wearing pin-strips! The Angels are a great team but I have to say that I am happy that the Yankee’s made their way to the World Series with tonight’s win. Go Yankees! xoxo Denise
Would you agree with the statement “Health is wealth”? I certainly do. When you have it, you just can’t help but take it fore-granted. But when you think about it, it’s really not a smart idea to assume that you will always be healthy. Working out, making good lifestyle choices are all essential to our wellness, quality of life and longevity. But even making the right choices doesn’t guarantee us health. So the smart thing to do is insure yourself, just in case something unexpected should happen or come up. I have paid for my own medical insurance for almost 16 years now. Each year my premiums go up and my insurance goes down with a new group of waivers that my insurance company always seems to add with each renewal. I always thought that I had decent coverage because my insurance agent always told me so and warned me to hold on to my plan at all cost. What I started to realize about 5 years ago, and what hit home more this year, is that as I get older, my insurance company is asking me to pay more, while giving me less coverage.
Does that mean that when I need my insurance the most I will ultimately end up with less then I need, even after investing in my own medical coverage with the same company for over 15 to 20 years? I’m hoping I won’t ever need my medical insurance and I do what I can to stay healthy and fit, but as I get older and I keep paying my insurance premiums, shouldn’t I feel comfortable knowing that I have made the right choices by investing in a long term relationship with my medical insurance company? Why do I have this awful feeling that even though I have paid my dues, month after month, year after more expensive year that I won’t have the coverage and protection I think I do. That I wont have the coverage I have paid so much and so long for. Think about that, I know I am. In closing, I really hope to see a public option that will allow Americans to be healthier, stronger and ultimately more productive and independent. Wishing you and yours the wealth that is health! xoxo Denise
Since my return home last week I’ve been a very busy girl. I’m back in the gym plowing through my workouts (something I didn’t do for almost two weeks) and I’m back in the office plowing through my paper work. I’m not caught up yet but I’m working on it. Did I mention that I’m a New York Yankees fan and one of the only people in LA clapping for NY in a gym full of bodybuilders who want to see the Angels win? It’s probably a good thing I have big guns and lots of great friends who love me even if I don’t root for what they call the right team. Go Yankees, go! xoxo Denise
