I got a message from a good friend of mine that her 21 year old sister had been brutally murdered by her husband last night. The shock and sadness that I’m left with for my friend and her family sits in the pit of my stomach like a rock. I can’t imagine what kind of stress and anger it would take to make anyone feel compelled in such a way. My heart goes out to my friend and her family for this tragic loss.
It’s been approximately 10 days since I got my new HP laptop. Having been burned by HP so badly over the last year, I have to admit that I can’t help but be both sceptical and weary of both my new system and it’s new Vista operating system. Having said that, in true Denise fashion, I was ready to give both HP and Microsoft’s Vista an optimistic second try. Now I’m writing this post because 1. I like to share and 2. Because I wonder if it’s just me (I don’t think so), or if maybe other people have found that Vista, although it does have some cool new features, seems to run very, very slow. I’m talking about 2-3 times slower then XP did. The other thing I’ve found is that some of my programs seem to get hung up a lot. It make me wonder if I should find a way to go back to my tried and true XP or find a way to play nice with my new bundled Vista.
Dear Diary, I don’t get to spend the day hanging with my Dad today because we are currently on different coasts, but nothing could stop me from sharing my love, admiration and appreciation for him, with him. I’ve been blessed to have a Dad like I do and although sometimes the distances between us are great in miles and long in time, he is always by my side.

Dear Diary, After a year of dealing with my HP laptop issues and getting almost no help from so many of the companies support staff, I was finally assigned a customer support manager who made a difference. Yesterday morning I got a call from my new case manager telling me that I would be getting a new laptop to replace the monster I’ve been living with. I wont have the new computer for about two weeks and to be honest a piece of me doesnt believe its true. I am really pleased , surprised and I cant wait to see what happens next! OK, so it doesnt really matter much to me if its the weekend or not, except that I do love the energy of a Saturday and a Sunday. People all around seem so calm and yet pumped on Saturday and I just love feeding off the buzzed of that day of the week. Sunday on the other hand always feels quieter, almost as though everyone is part of some kicked back calm before the awesome Monday work storm. Anyway, I’ve decided that I will spend my Saturday driving to San Diego and enjoying at least part of the weekend shopping for some new panties! @{———- Denise
I wanted to take a moment to talk about a couple of good friends of mine who both suffered the loss of loved ones this week. One friend lost his mother and the other lost two good friends. I was grateful that in both cases I could able to share some of their feelings and be there for them. These are people who have always been there for me in both small and big ways. Its important to have good friend to talk to when things get hard or when life gets confusing. I guess this post is really about appreciating the great people in our lives for as long as we get to have them. And its also about remembering that “Love is how we stay alive, even after we are gone”. xoxo Denise
Dear Diary, You already know that my schedule is crazy and that my days and nights are filled with my various projects, and training, but thats never really stopped me from finding a way to have some fun. One of the things I truly believe is that you have to love life and enjoy as much of it as you can. It’s easy to get caught up in the stressful rat race that is life, but so much nicer when you can look at it all with a sense of humor. Now dont get me wrong, I work a lot and I take my work and business very seriously, but every now and then, I do like to have a little private fun when Im working home alone. So from time to time, instead of a coffee brake I like to take 15 minutes of Denise’s fun time before I get back down to business <smile>. TGIF xoxo Denise
