Denise at the Long Beach Blues FestivalThe incredible Blind BrothersBettye LeVette performs at the Long Beach Blues Fest I spent the Labor Day Weekend at this year’s Long Beach Blues Festival and I wanted to share some of that incredible experience with you. I’ve never been to Long Beach so I didn’t know what to expect but what I found was a great seaside city with incredible views from my awesome hotel room at the Maya Hotel. My eclectic, super chic bay view room looked out on the Queen Mary (a retired ocean liner that sailed the North Atlantic Ocean from 1936 to 1967 and the Russian Scorpion Submarine. I went to Long Beach for the Blues and ended up enjoying great live performances by The Blind Boys of Alabama, Bettye LaVette, Johnny Winter, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Mavis Staples & Bobby Womack to name a few of what I thought where the highlights. The people, the place and the music we shared reminded me of how incredible and important it is to share in life and in the Blues. Fired Up… Denise
