Fear Divided us, Hope United us…

…those are the words that belong to the winner of a competition designed to find the best 6 words in a phrase that would best sum up today’s inauguration of our new president Barack Obama. Like so many people, I’ve spent quite a bit of time this weekend and today watching the events surrounding the presidential inauguration. It was a pleasure to listen to Barack talk about the reality of the hardships we face as a nation in a manner that would call upon our collective courage and unity, so that we could face our problems as a real community. Welcome Mr. President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama.

I have been watching the inauguration too. The speech was nice, something reminded me of Martin Luther King, something else of JFK. Hope Obama will be a good president. I’d like to visit New York soon, I’m from Rome, Italy. Where you born in Brooklyn, as I read? Anyway, I wanted to tell you how you are great in everything you do and how I am a great fan of yours. I think I have a crush… 😉

Hello PeterPan: Im sorry for the delay in my blog response, the new year has been crazy. To answer your question, I was born in Brooklyn, New York and grew up in Coney Island. I loved growing up in the melting pot that is New York and like you, I am hopeful that President Obama will find both support and success for all of us. Thank you for your post, I am supremely flattered.
