Dear Friends!
Three years ago I met a group of activists who inspired me with the work they were doing in their communities.

At the same time I was also struggling with the heart wrenching reality that my aunt was terminally ill with Cancer. Her long difficult battle always made me feel helpless. I didn’t know what to do or say and all I wanted to do was find a way to help her.

As a life long athlete I have always been the consummate optimist and I found working out to be incredibly empowering. This is why I have dedicated my life to promoting fitness. I want to share the positive life changing benefits I have enjoyed through my fitness lifestyle.

When I realized that I could encourage my friends, family and my community to challenge themselves to become fitter with a Warrior Dash challenge and that we could help St Jude fight childhood cancer, it was like a lightning bolt hitting me.
I had found my activism.

This will be my teams 3rd year competing as St. Jude Warriors. We are The Miss Fits 4 Life –  A team of people who have come together from all walks of life to help St Jude in this fight. We believe that everyone deserves a chance at a healthy life, and my personal goal is to encourage health and fitness for all.

I hope I can inspire you to sponsor me or one of my team members by making a small donation and maybe even joining our team!

Wishing you and yours Health and Fitness
xoxo Denise Masino aka MissFit 4 Life!

For information on our team and to sponsor me please visit http://active-ism.com and click on my photo. All monies go directly to St Jude.

Thank you for your support.

St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is one of the global leaders in finding cures and saving children from cancer and other deadly diseases. This is why I am competing as a St. Jude Warrior at Warrior Dash. I am going to crawl through mud and jump through fire in order to support St. Jude patients. Will you join the fight with me?

How your donation helps:

  • Thanks to donors like you, no family ever receives a bill from St. Jude.
  • Every child saved at St. Jude means doctors and scientists can use that knowledge to save thousands more children around the world.

This morning I did my cardio training by joining my friend Sakura’s Relay for Life team in Venice, California. The event was a 24 hour relay honoring cancer survivors, care givers and people who wanted to volunteer and support the American Cancer Society. I spent 3 hours on the track, did 20 laps, walked 4 miles and ran 1 mile and it was great to be a part of it all. The people in this 1st photo wearing the purple t-shirts are all survivors, and the dog was a loyal friend and walking partner that reminded us all that help and support comes in all shapes, sizes, forms and species. It was an amazing experience. One that filled me with sadness as I try to honor and remember my Aunt Carmen and also filled me will joy, gratitude and appreciation for the hope and positivity that I comes out of days like today. And just in case you are wondering, my entire body is sore from running and walking today. Thank you Relay for Life for kicking me in the butt with my first time back to running in a very long while!
