Love and Thunder

Happy Halloween! I’m sending you Huge Love and Thunder. I hope you had some fun with this, one of my favorite holidays and that you won’t mind the fact that I just might be celebrating and dressing up for the entire month of November! #staypumped #gratitude #love #thunder #thorcostume Denise

Perspective

Author: Denise Masino
October 27, 2022

“A particular attitude toward or way of regarding something; a point of view”
…typically based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to personal experience. The cool thing about perspective is that we can choose to see things in more than one way. Every answer may be true. <smile>
My perspective today is, I’m glad I have a glass to fill with whatever I need to carry and I hope you do too. xo Denise

Quick update

I’m fine and I’m a little overwhelmed by the number of things that need to be handled. Progress is being made, but with all of the things on my plate I am getting behind in normal tasks. (I fucking hate getting behind). Thank you to all of you for sending your messages of support. Thank you for the cards and the social posts of encouragement. Thank you to all of my members and followers for helping me smile and for lifting me up. I will do a follow up post later today. Love and gratitude Denise

One thing at a time – Ian update.

Life is complicated, but it doesn’t have to be as complicated as we make it. For example, I don’t want to complain, but I do want to complain. See what I mean? Simple and complicated at the same time! Hahaha
Anyway, I’ve had a few of the most challenging days in memory and it’s only Wednesday. Suffice to say that I am dealing with a lot of different demands and needs coming from all sorts of places. Balancing the needs of others while also trying to take care of yourself can be a very tricky place to be. Never-the-less, I will do my best to figure shit out while still moving forward and without all the answers. I will be doing a live chat on Friday and look forward to sharing an update on what has been happening this week. Fingers crossed, I will be doing a real video live cam next week. Thank you so much for reaching out to me and offering your support I truly appreciate you all. Love and Gratitude xo Denise

Progress happening. Work together.

Quick update as our progress continues. These days I wake up in the middle of the night and I’m not sure where I am because we’ve moved around a lot in the last few weeks. I am a little tired, though I have slept and I am grateful for that. I think its the never ending list of things to do that make me feel a little tired. I’ve been moving around a lot as I work to help my parents, and do what little I can to assist family members and friends. On top of that I have a list of damages and repairs to figure out. The goal is to get up and running each day. Thank you for joining me on chat the other day. More updates to come. Counting blessings and taking on the day. Love and gratitude. Denise

The hurricane Ian clean-up is massive and ongoing. The needs are complex, simple, and everything in-between. It’s multi-layered like an onion and everybody has and is like an onion. The power is slowly being restored to my neighborhood and the surrounding communities and that is great! I see all kinds of recovery equipment and services flowing and flying all around us. This includes people, because without human power, there would be no recovery. Cooperation is essential and so are the vast and diverse skills that all kinds of people bring. Volunteer organizations are crucial and the most important thing of all is how we take care of each other. Thank you to everyone thinking about us in Florida. Your thoughts, prayers, contributions and well wishes are felt and appreciated by me. I still don’t have any power, but I will be doing a live text only chat this Friday for anyone who wants to join in, please meet me in the members area on the live cam page.

Progress is being made. It’s not happening as quickly as I wish it were. I’m going a little stir-crazy and very busy at the same time. The constant calls, text messages and never ending search for more information on how I can help others and myself in this situation is what is making me feel like I’m on and off a dizzying amusement ride. I’m betting this is normal and as soon as I start getting frustrated I think about how fortunate I am. Every day things are coming back on-line. There are ten’s of thousands of people working on the front line and behind the scenes. Each and every one of them are dealing with some sort of limiting factor because of the destruction to power, water, roadways and other critical infrastructure. Things are getting better and little by little recovery is happening. Thank you to the thousands of workers locally and abroad. Thank you to each and every citizen doing their own work and helping others. Let us be patient with each other during this tense and challenging time. And may we always be a sign of hope to all who cross our path. #lovedrop in your corner of the world. Denise

What’s on your mind, update 2

Watching the news coming out of Fort Myers, Naples and surrounding areas is heart wrenching. I can’t help but worry about all the people who have to face so much loss. I am in touch with my family, some of my friends and neighbors and I’m relieved to know they are all safe. With so much happening all at once it’s hard to keep track of things and it’s mind numbing. That said, we are all safe! Damage assessment is next and slowly starting to happen as access begins to open up. I am aware of some of the damage to family and friends homes and property and got some news on my house. Information is starting to come in, but it will be slow for a while. Being patient is hard and necessary. Reminder to self – We are all safe!
Thanks for checking in, I will update more soon.
Love drop in your corner of the world.

I don’t know where to start. The past 5 days have been stressful and busy. When preparing for a possible natural emergency and evacuation the list of things that run through your mind is long, winding and frequently chaotic. You can’t give in to fear, but you have to plan for the worst. How do you do that? How do you think of everything when the clock is ticking and there are so many responsibilities and options? You must keep calm and you must keep moving. These are some of my thoughts. The stay focused thoughts push the scary “what if” thoughts aside. I will close this post by telling you that at this time we are safe, and my family is safe and I am super grateful for that. We have weathered this part of the storm and the extent of the damages are unknown. I will post more as soon as possible. And, I see your good wishes and I feel your prayers. Thank you for thinking of me and of all of us in Florida. I hope you are all safe and secure and continue to be.
Love and Gratitude xo Denise
