Last week I saw Jon Stewart on the Daily Show talking about a Japanese artist named Megumi Igarashi aka Rokudenshi-ko who was arrested on obscenity allegations for providing 3-D images of her vagina to supporters in a crowd-funded project. Apparently Miss Igarashi has used her vagina as her muse for lots of different projects including a vagina shaped kayak.
On her website, Ms Igarashi says she has made several pieces of art based on her genitals using a silicone mold, saying she wants to make vaginas “more casual and pop”.
The vagina “has been such a taboo in Japanese society… (it) has been thought to be obscene”, while penises are regarded as “part of pop culture”, she said.
After reading several online articles on this new Pop Pussy Goddess’s arrest, what really intrigued me about Japanese culture is that although the vagina is considered obscene, the penis actually has it’s own special holiday in Japan. Each spring, people flock to Kawasaki, Japan, to celebrate Kanamara Matsuri, aka the “Festival of the Steel Phallus.” I’ve included a few pictures I found online and a link to an interesting and fun article from the Huffington Post on the Penis festival. What you will see is that everyone, male and female, young and old alike seem to be having a screaming good time worshiping cock and balls. So I thought OK, so why not celebrate genitals and fertility? And why is the vagina excluded from this ideology? I mean, where would we be without the Penis’s counter part?
That’s right we would be nowhere! Because without a pussy, you and I don’t exist at all! Are you thinking what I’m thinking? Yep, that’s right — we need a Worship the Pussy Festival!

I’m back on the road, heading to San Diego for this years Comic Con weekend. I won’t be spending a lot of time at the con playing with the cos-players this year, but I will be spending the weekend with some Real Life Superhero friends for the annual Hope Homeless Outreach Mission. HOPE is an event that I have been a part of for the last 3 years and I’m looking forward to seeing all of my costumed activist friends again this year. Donations of food, personal items, and a little bit of our time spent with those who are less fortunate than we are makes for an amazing and humbling experience. Two hundred care packages and hot food assembled and distributed by these working class heroes is a reminder that small acts of kindness really mean a lot! Enjoy the snap shots of what different parts of my week looked like. And, keep your fingers crossed that I get to snatch a few pictures of some of those awesome cos-players too!
Morning call before my workout!

In preparation for a friends, 40’s Hollywood themed party I turned to Bob Mackie’s costume rental facility to find a dress that would fit the bill. The staff was fantastic, Bob Mackie was incredibly friendly and my back, boobs and arms proved to be a bit of a challenge. The place had clothing designed and worn by lots of stars including Cher. In the end I found something to wear and had a lot of fun picturing myself as a bodacious bodybuilder from the 1940’s. Check out these gowns!
LIVE DIE REPEAT… is the tag line for the movie “Edge of Tomorrow” which I loved seeing this weekend. If you are looking for a clever popcorn movie, love sci fi movies, like gaming, like action movies, and enjoy great performances –I highly recommend this movie. Go see it and enjoy!
