Hummingbird rescue adventure

I had a most unusual evening last night when I found a humming bird at the foot of the sliding doors to my house. It was clear that she was disoriented and may have been injured, so I made a few calls and got some advise on how to try to help her. What followed was a bit of a comedy as I attempted to gently house and feed my new little friend. Turns out I was dealing with a female adult Anna Hummingbird. I was able to feed her a little sugar water and box her well enough to keep her safe through the night and deliver her to the recommended Humane Society that has a woman who specializes in treating and rehabilitating hummingbirds. This was both stressful and exciting and now I just hope that she ends up being alright. 🙂
